A new Iconic S-shaped bridge connecting Castle Park with Finzels Reach (a new city quarter created on a former brewery site between Counter-slip and the docks in Central Bristol).

Made from a series of unique curved steel sections topped with timber decking, sculptured cladding and feature lighting, the £2.7million bridge is a striking new landmark in Bristol. Highly efficient LED lighting installed within the hand rail of the bridge illuminates the entire 91m walkway and is fed from a UPS battery backup system to maintain the lighting even in the event of power failure. Additional lighting washes down the structural columns and bridge mounted navigation lights provide guidance for all water-going vessels that pass underneath.

The project presented some unique and bespoke challenges associated with working over water, with some extensive and comprehensive risk and method statements (RAMS) required to ensure and maintain a safe working environment during the construction stage.
